Welcome to Boston Spa School.

We would like to wish all our students, parents and community a happy and successful New Year.

We were pleased during the autumn to be recognised by the Specialist School and Academies Trust with an achievement award for our examination results last summer. It was good to be reminded of the success, but our priority must now be with students approaching exams this year.

We were also pleased to receive an Education Business Award for our approaches to healthy lifestyles, in addition to receiving Advanced Healthy School status and to be re-awarded Sports Mark. To be recognized for our concern for the welfare and health of our young people, so soon after celebrating considerable academic achievements, was very pleasing.

Our commitment to the development of the whole person was seen in a variety of exciting ways last term. There was the successful Art visit to Paris, the Year 8 residential in Skegness, and 100 students participating in ‘Poetry Live’. We also enjoyed a whole variety of student performance from Sport, Music, Drama and Dance, including the Sixth Form production of the ‘Nutcracker’. We also hosted two touring productions ‘Lost and Found’ and ‘Denial’ and ended the term with a successful Sixth Form Awards Evening.

The new term beings with some public exams for many, and trial exams for Year 11. Our teachers will do all they can to prepare our young people properly for this, and we are grateful for the support parents will provide at this important time.

I look forward to meeting many of our parents during our Review Day on March 6th.
