School Classification
The school is a voluntary controlled, Church of England, primary, co-educational day school catering for children in the age range 5-11 years.
The school is situated in the leafy village of Brockholes, in the rural Holme Valley of West Yorkshire.
Our Vision
Brockholes School welcomes and values the contribution of all stakeholders. We provide a safe, stimulating and challenging child centred learning environment and provide opportunities for every child/adult to fulfil their potential.
The children will be taught and encouraged to grow spiritually and socially and to respect themselves and each other's views and beliefs.
A strong leadership team and staff will maintain open communication with children, staff, parents, Governors, the Church and the wider community.

A visit to Bradley Woods outdoor activity centre for Year 3 children; Year 5 visited Eden Camp to complement their World War II studies; our Year 6 children took part in a 3 day residential visit to Robinwood Activity Centre in Todmorden.
Our Year 4 children will be staying 2 nights in January 2008 at the local Cliffe House Activity Centre.
Our achievements
- Brockholes School Foundation stage has recently been awarded the Quality Assurance in The Effective Early Learning Programme from the Centre for Research in Early Childhood in Birmingham. The assessment, which has taken 18 months to complete, focuses on the core areas for the foundation stage of education - personal, social and emotional development, communication, language and literacy, mathematical development, knowledge and understanding of the world, creative development and physical development. The award is seen as an endorsement for highly effective teaching and learning in early years education.
