Cardinal Heenan is a Catholic voluntary aided school for 900 girls and boys aged 11-16 years.
This is not just an ordinary school with extra Religious Education lessons. We try to develop our pupils' talents because we believe that they have a Christian vocation in life and an eternal destiny. Religious Education is important and it enjoys high status in school. We also give our pupils opportunities to recognise Christ in their neighbours, to respond to the needy and to be people of Christian love who can transform the world.
Cardinal Heenan is a Specialist Language College because we believe that the study of a modern foreign language develops our students’ understanding of other traditions and cultures and so helps them to become appropriately educated to meet the challenges of the modern world. Language learning also equips our young people with the necessary skills and attributes to play their part in an increasing global economy.
