The aims of the school

What can parents/guardians expect the school to provide for their children?

The school will:

· Provide a broad and balanced curriculum
· Cater for each child's individual needs
· Provide a caring environment
· Provide the opportunity for all children to experience success, whether academic, creative, personal or social
· Prepare children for their role as active participants in society

Class teachers are responsible for the day-to-day pastoral care of the children. Homework takes the form of shared activities in literacy and numeracy up to a maximum of 10 minutes daily.

· Parental involvement

We see children's education as a partnership between home and school. Honley operates an "open door" policy designed to ensure close liaison with parents. Parents are welcomed into school on a voluntary help basis. Two Parents' Consultation Evenings are held during the year. There is an active Friends of Honley Infant School Association which organises regular social and fund-raising events.
