The school and its setting
Hothfield School is in the very heart of Silsden and provides the highest quality education for the children of the town and also many from beyond the local boundaries. The school was built in 1914 as a secondary school, and was re-modelled for junior children in 1973. A new extension that accommodates one Year 5 class and all the Year 6 classes was completed for the first term in 2005. Altogether we now have eleven classrooms (12 with interactive whiteboards), a large ITC suite, two mobile computer trolleys with 16 laptops per trolley, a dual purpose hall / gymnasium, a newly designed library with computers to aid research, a dining room with it’s own kitchen, a Staff room and offices. The school also has a large playing field nearby which is very well used especially during the summer months.
