Welcome to Midgley School.
We are a small village primary school, situated in the hilltop village of Midgley, near Halifax, West Yorkshire. The school can accommodate around 110 children, in mixed age classes, from 4 to11 years.
Our aim has always been to provide an education which offers “Excellence and Enjoyment.” This was recognised in July 2006 by Ofsted who acknowledged that we are an Outstanding school.
From the Head Teacher
Welcome to Midgley School
At Midgley School we aim to provide a rich curriculum that educates the whole child. Our ethos is based on creating an environment in which individuals feel valued and secure and where personal endeavour, enquiring minds and responsibility are valued. We aim to develop values which will help children to become caring, responsible members of the school and of the wider community. We believe in the importance of a patnership between home and school as together we share the responsibility for the all round education of your child. During their time at Midgley opportunities will be provided to enable all children to strive for excellent standards appropriate to their age and ability, enabling them to acquire the skills, knowledge and self confidence necessary to ensure that they have a smooth transition to the high school of their choice.
