We are recognised as a Nationally Outstanding Primary School and pride ourselves on the high standard of education planned for and delivered at Thorner. We are fortunate to have a group of highly talented, dedicated and enthusiastic individuals working in school; teachers, trainee teachers, classroom support staff, administrators, lunchtime supervisors, cooks and caretaking/cleaning staff. They are all supportive of the school aims and this friendly atmosphere is the foundation of our philosophy for successful learning and fulfilling personal development.
Getting to know the children and their families well is a priority for all staff; it is this care that enables the children to be confident and comfortable, to give of their best and to develop a love of learning. We want parents of children at Thorner to be a large part of all that we do, as the partnership between home and school is crucial for a happy and successful educational experience for our youngsters. As a Church school, we take particular care to give children the full entitlement to develop spiritually, socially, culturally and morally and we include classes on citizenship. Thank you for visiting our website, explore the site and you will find out all about us and what we have to offer your child.
