School Organisation The number of pupils on the roll in September 2005 was 47. There are two classes; the infant class contains Reception, year 1 and 2, the junior class year 3, 4 and 5. Much individual teaching takes place and children also work collaboratively according to ability or age.
In addition to the class teacher, the children benefit from the presence of one or more additional teachers each week. Teaching Assistants play an active part in each day's teaching activities. The infant class teacher enjoys the support of another adult for much of the school day. Programmes of study are planned in advance so that often both classes are working on the same theme but at different levels of ability.
The school enjoys links with other schools in our "cluster". Staff from the schools share expertise and we endeavour that the children from the schools work together when possible. We are also part of the wider Petworth Area Schools, where staff work closely together. |
