Castlewood Primary School
Castlewood Road, Horsham,RH13 9US Southwater
01403 734822

I would like to welcome you to Castlewood Primary School and give you an insight into our school life. Castlewood School was opened in September 1997 in response to an increased number of children in the Southwater area and since that day has welcomed many families into our community.

In the last few years our school has gone from strength to strength, growing from just over 100 children to over double that figure now. During that time the school has gained a good reputation both locally and in the county for many aspects of our work. We aim at all times to set high standards in teaching and learning and to provide children with a rich and exciting curriculum that enables all pupils to achieve and find enjoyment in their primary school career. The school has developed many strengths which have been recognised by national awards and recognised as a school of best practice in areas such as PE, Art, ICT, English and for the quality of our curriculum.

Mrs Julia Slocombe

The school colours are Royal Blue and Grey and we would encourage all parents and pupils to support the school by wearing uniform.

  • Royal blue school jumper/sweatshirt or cardigan
  • White polo shirt
  • Grey skirt or pinafore dress or grey trousers
  • White socks or white or grey tights
  • Sensible shoes
  • Blue striped or checked dress for summer
  • School fleece

P.E. Kit

  • School T-shirt or white T-shirt
  • Navy blue shorts
  • Plimsolls for indoor wear
  • Trainers may be worn for outdoor games
  • P.E. bag

An old shirt or painting apron would be very helpful for painting or craft lessons.

School uniform is supplied by Broadbridges, Piries Place, Horsham. Sweatshirts from other shops can be embroidered with the school logo by arrangement with a member of SOCS (Supporters of Castlewood School). Book bags, PE bags and summer caps are available from the School Office.

It would be helpful if all items of school uniform could be clearly named.
