Welcome to Colgate Primary School!
We are a busy but friendly school, with lots going on. This web site aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing regular updated information for both parents and pupils. We hope that you enjoy your visit to our web site, and that you find any information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school direct with any queries you may have.
There has been a school at Colgate since 1865, but the building has been located in its present site since 1915. It was modernised and extended in 1975/76 and again in 2001.
Today, the main building comprises an Early Years Unit with a covered outside area, a hall, a practical area, class base for Year 1 and 2 children, kitchens, offices, fiction library and a computer suite which incorporates our reference library. There are also toilet and cloakroom facilities.
Three more class bases are situated within modular units sited within the school grounds. Furthermore all classes have interactive whiteboards and internet access.
We have a hard-surfaced playground and an adjacent bark area, where we have installed a lowlevel adventure trail and attractive seating. Opposite the school site, we have a large playing field, which is used for athletics and games. We have recently developed an environmental area with a pond.
