Welcome To Our School

Copthorne C.E. Junior School, is a Church School. The Christian ethos of the school will be evident to all who come here. It is a firm foundation for the whole life of the school. We will ensure that the children enjoy their time at the school and, as they grow physically and mentally, they will also develop socially and spiritually, so gaining a real respect for themselves and others and for the environment.
Our children work hard in a relaxed, but disciplined manner in an atmosphere that is caring and challenging. All the work planned is based around the children’s direct experiences. This being the case projects often start with an examination of the children’s immediate surroundings and move out to encompass a more global perspective. Sometimes, though, projects will start with a much wider view and gradually narrow in to the child’s immediate environment; it just depends on the nature of the project.

We think of education as a partnership between school and home and your support is valued and encouraged. We do our best to encourage good home/school liaison, in all forms and to support this, we have a Home/School Agreement, which you are strongly encouraged to enter into with us.

Alistair Hawtin, Headteacher.
