School Association

As a parent or guardian of a child or children at Bovey Tracey Primary School or if you are one of the staff, you are a member of the Bovey Tracey School Association.

The Association has a meeting once every half-term.  During the meetings we discuss fund-raising events and various other matters that affect the school and the children who attend it.

Throughout the year the Association organises many fund-raising events.  All the money is then used to benefit all the children in the school in various ways.  These include the purchase of new equipment and books.

Remember it is YOUR Association, and it can only continue to do all the great things it does if YOU join in.

Most parents these days have many demands on their time. The majority of parents work in some capacity and it is appreciated that time is limited.  However if every parent gave just a few hours of their time per year then the Association would have all the help and support needed.  We do not expect parents to help at every event, but you can take great satisfaction from knowing that any help given will benefit the school and ultimately YOUR child.

There are many ways you can help.  Here are a few examples;

Donations – we have many generous parents who donate items for our various fund-raising events, e.g, cakes, bottles and craft items.  Maybe you too could make a donation for the next event.

Help wrap prizes/Christmas presents.

Man a stall at the Summer or Christmas Fayre.

Help to set up stalls and tidy up after events.

Serve refreshments or supervise at the school disco

Do you have a special talent? eg DJ, children’s entertainment, nail art, face painting, hair plaiting.  You name it; we can make use of it!

Ask your employer to donate Raffle Prizes (the more the better).

If you have any ideas for future fund-raising events or points you wish to be raised at the next Association meeting then please pass these on to any member of the Association Committee, alternatively you may e-mail your suggestions on
