Message from the Head:
When you hand your child over to the school at 8.55 the Headteacher and her staff assume parental responsibilities until the end of the school day. With so many children on the premises it is obvious that rules have to be made for the safety of all. We ask you to co-operate by making sure that your child understands his/her responsibilities to others, and ultimately, your child will enjoy the benefits of working and playing in a safe and happy environment.
THE ELLACOMBE CODE:
Look after our school environment
Every day think of your own and others safety
Always be kind and courteous
Respect other peoples property
Neat and tidy uniforms should be worn with pride
We try to be consistent in encouraging good behaviour.
Good behaviour and courtesy are rewarded in “Special Mentions” Assemblies when children receive stickers. Whole classes can win a rosette for courtesy and punctuality. Merit assemblies are held twice a term when children are rewarded certificates for effort, achievement and good /improved behaviour.
Dealing with Bullying in School
Any complaints about bullying in any form should be reported to the class teacher. Children should be encouraged to tell staff if they are being bullied. Incidents will be dealt with and children need not fear reprisals from the bully. We would be grateful if you would inform us of incidents, however minor - it is often more effective to deal with matters at an earlier rather than a later stage.
