Our Head teacher and Governors have shown their commitment to ICT in Honiton Primary with a huge investment this year, with the purchase of an exciting new system upgrade.
During the Easter break RM (Research Machines) delivered thirty CC3 networked stations. They are built on a XP Professional platform, running from a Windows 2003 network server. We have also installed twelve interactive white boards with ceiling mounted projectors and with full multimedia functions in the Keystage 2 classrooms.
Along with the new network we also have a new ICT Teaching Assistant, Lisa Curley to help with the teaching and learning of ICT within the school.
Some of the favourite programs with the children this term have been ‘The Crystal Rainforest’, set in a rainforest, the plot is designed around a series of carefully structured lessons, puzzles and problems that introduce children to Logo in a logical and sequential manner and ‘The Logical Journey of Zoombinis, which is designed to encourage and strengthen creative problem-solving skills and data analysis.
