School uniform is encouraged and parents can purchase school sweatshirts from local shops.
GIRLS ARE EXPECTED TO WEAR - Red sweatshirt, cardigan or pullover, grey skirt or pinafore or trousers, white blouse. Summer dress - red gingham dresses.
BOYS ARE EXPECTED TO WEAR - Red sweatshirt or pullover, white shirt, grey short or long trousers.
Boys and Girls - White T-shirt, navy shorts and plimsolls. It is a help to staff if younger children have elasticated slip-on gym shoes instead of those with laces, which can be very time consuming. Similarly we prefer gym shoes to 'trainers' which do not have the same flexibility or grip for indoor work.
Outdoor games can take place in cold weather, therefore warmer games kit and track suits are more appropriate for our older pupils during the winter months. Boys and girls playing in soccer or rugby football groups are required to have appropriate footwear. The school football team is provided with a school strip and we discourage expensive football club strips on the grounds of the expense to parents and the competition which inevitably results from pressures to 'keep up with the Joneses'.
Swimming takes place in the summer months for some age groups. As well as a costume and towel, a swimming hat should be worn by children with long hair.
Please avoid shoes with high fashion heels or slip-on footwear of the mule variety. They can cause unnecessary falls and accidents in the busy playgrounds.
During the first term it is wise to keep a spare pair of underpants or knickers in your child's PE bag for use in emergencies.
Art, Craft and Pottery
Please provide your child with an apron for these activities. it does not need to be elaborate - an old shirt does the job admirably.
Marking School Clothing
Please make sure that all your child's clothing is clearly marked with their name. Woven name tapes can be ordered through the school.
