Blundell’s Preparatory School, formerly St Aubyn’s School, is situated on a wonderfully extensive site in beautiful Devon countryside on the outskirts of Tiverton, within easy access to the M5 and North Devon Link road. It is administered under the auspices of the Blundell’s Charitable Trust. Blundell's Prep is an independent school for children aged two to eleven.

The school prepares children for a variety of senior schools, although the majority of the children feed through to the Senior School. Please call in to see us and have a look around. We will be only too willing to show you the range of opportunities we have on offer.

In the mean time please take a look at our recent inspection report on the Independent School's Inspectorate web site at www.isinspect.org.uk/reports/2007/1026_07.htm.

ICT

The use of ICT in society expands at an ever-increasing pace and it is an essential part of everyday life for the staff and pupils alike at Blundell’s Prep. We offer a curriculum that matches the needs of society today and pupils will have unprecedented access to facilities.

At Blundell’s Prep these include a PC suite, interactive whiteboards and laptops – approaching 50 around the school. Pupils also have access to cameras, scanners and other peripherals such as floor turtles.

The aims of the Blundell’s Prep ICT department are:-

To use the National Curriculum for Key stages 1 and 2 as a guide to teaching ICT in Years 1 to 6.

To stimulate the use of Information Technology in all subjects taught at Blundell’s Prep.

To enable and encourage every pupil to develop relevant IT skills and an understanding of the impact of ICT on society.

To foster the enjoyment and confidence in using and applying Information and Communication Technology.

They were given a very lively demonstration about magnetism.

Children had the opportunity to attend workshops to try out some of the experiments
they had seen in the "Magnetism" show given by Professor Bonkers and Bunsen.

Science Week Activities - Children brought artefacts into school for their class science museum and then
showed them to everyone during the daily assemblies. Even Mr. Folland got into the spirit of Science Week
when he donned his Professor's coat and demonstrated an experiment in assembly.
