St Wilfrid's is a private school and has been in existence for over 125 years and is well known and respected in Exeter for providing non-selective, independent education on a co-educational basis.

The overall policy of St Wilfrid's School as a private school in Devon is to create a learning environment in which all of the pupils are stimulated to achieve a positive self image by experiencing success, accepting responsibility and by recognising and respecting the needs and achievements of others.

At St Wilfrid's we have an average class size of 14 thus ensuring pupils receive maximum attention and supervision whilst a small community means a positive and secure environment.

The atmosphere in which our pupils work ensures stability and happiness so that all may progress and attain their full potential. Relationships are good, behaviour is excellent and discipline problems virtually unknown. Pupils gain confidence and many "school refusals" have blossomed.

Unlike other private schools every pupil who studies a subject to GCSE level sits the examination regardless of their mock examination results. Although this does not always reflect well in the league table statistics we, at St Wilfrid's, feel that the most important things that go on in the school can not be measured simply by the number of 'A' grades achieved at GCSE level. Our aim is to achieve the best grades for all pupils, within their capabilities and to give them a feeling of success.

St Wilfrid's is especially proud of grades achieved by those less ambitious academically - these children who learn to work hard, to do their best and who have been helped and encouraged to overcome difficulties and in the end to succeed. They learn much more than just school subjects in the process. These are perhaps the true successes because their achievements are not easily obtained.

St Wilfrid's is a leading private school in Exeter. If you would like more information please contact us for a prospectus
