We aim to create a warm and caring atmosphere within the school where all our children can feel happy and secure. At the same time we want, in partnership with parents, to encourage each child to reach their full potential in all areas of the curriculum within a stimulating and interesting environment.
About Us
Whipton Barton Infant School is a County school for children aged 4+ to 8 years with a full-time Nursery Unit taking 39 children each morning and another 39 each afternoon.
It is a friendly and welcoming school committed to enabling every child to reach their full potential - educationally, emotionally and socially. We are extremely fortunate to have extensive and attractive grouns which we share with our Middle School which caters for children from 8 to 12 years.
We are constantly improving and developing our school grounds and have created interesting areas which the children maintain and study as part of their environmental work. We have installed an Adventure Play Area and have also planted a quiet area, with plants, shrubs and seating, where the children can read, walk and study. Most recently (July 1997) we have enclosed an area of tarmac and grass in front of the Reception classrooms, so that the youngest children have a separate and safe play/work area to use when they first start school.
