Lawrence Sheriff School
Clifton Road, CV21 3AG Rugby
01788 542074

Welcome to the Lawrence Sheriff website. I hope that as you explore the site you will get a flavour of the unique culture that underlies the school. Culture is sometimes defined as 'the way we do things around here' and I believe that this website provides a sense of the 'way we do things' at Lawrence Sheriff.

The school is of course committed to academic excellence, and many features on the pages that follow will reflect that excellence. In September 2003 the school became a specialist college for Mathematics and Computing, and the site reflects our outstanding achievement in these two subjects. Having said this, we also strongly believe that specialism is not just about our two lead subjects, but that it offers fresh and exciting opportunities for every part of the school.  The breadth of our academic achievement was reflected in OFSTED's decision to name us as a 'Particularly Successful School' in 2006 (making us one of a small group of schools to receive this accolade twice).

However, the school is not only about academic achievement. 'The way we do things around here' also involves developing the whole person, whether it be through sport, music, drama, art or the many other clubs and societies that flourish within the school. It also involves playing a full part in the life of the community that the school serves. Our aim is to be a community grammar school that plays an energetic part in the community of Rugby .

The school is an Investor in People and in many ways that kitemark best sums up 'the way we do things around here'. The school's aim is to invest in the potential of every member of the school community and to help them to achieve all that they are capable of. We want Lawrence Sheriff to be a happy school, a place where every individual is valued for their unique contribution to the organisation.

So, I hope that you enjoy experiencing 'the way we do things' at Lawrence Sheriff School . If you would like to find out more, please do not hesitate to contact us.
