Introduction to the Willows

The Willows Church of England Primary School was founded in 1846 making it the oldest primary school in Stratford. It was originally located where ‘Scholars Court’ now is by the traffic lights on the Alcester Road where the school was affectionately known as ‘The Traffic Lights School’. We have kept the original foundation stone and bell which is still rung every day at the start of lunchtime.

Overview

Overview
The Willows currently have 270 children on roll. To accommodate them there are nine classrooms, a large hall, two activity areas, a learning resources suite which also accommodates our new library, a music room, a sensory garden and our own heated outdoor swimming pool. We also have our own kitchen where school meals are prepared.

Our playing fields adjoin those of the High School and include Infant and Junior Playgrounds, football pitches, long jump and high jump pits and a courtyard with a garden area and pond. There is also a fenced area for the use of our youngest children as an external classroom.

We are committed to maintaining a high quality environment in which the children are encouraged to take pride.
