Welcome from the Headteacher...

Choosing the school at which our children are to be educated is perhaps one of the most important decisions that we make. The purpose of this website is to provide you with an insight into the life of St Joseph's, and thereby provide you with the quality of information that you need to make such a decision.

We have high expectations of all pupils. Our Christianity ensures that we can expect each pupil to develop to their utmost their talents, as outlined in Matthew 23:13 – 40. The education we have to offer places great emphasis on the gifts (academic, social, musical…) that we can use for the benefit of others.

As an 11-18 school we are able to offer quality education through to the start of Higher Education for those who wish to follow that path. All our students will be encouraged to view education as a life long activity, and not a process that ends at 16 or 18.

“Relationships between teachers and pupils are very good and there is a purposeful working atmosphere. Teaching is not only thorough, but enthusiastic and often innovative.”

(ESTYN Inspection Report 2001)
