About Ashwood Park

Ashwood Park Primary School is situated on the western edge of the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley and is set in its own beautiful grounds. When you walk down the drive from Bells Lane, the noises of town life are gradually replaced by the gentle sounds of the countryside.

This is a modern school, opened in 1972 and extended in 1974. Ashwood Park is a single storey design offering classroom accommodation for 420 children. The school caters for boys and girls from 3 to 11 years of age in two buildings which are presently used for Nursery, Infant and Junior age children.

We are very fortunate in accommodating the only Primary Hearing Impaired Unit in the Dudley area. Children with impaired hearing are integrated and supported throughout the mainstream school.

Home and School Association

Who are we?

We are a small group made up of parents of children at the school and staff who work at the school.

 What do we do?

We discuss and organise fund-raising events and fun days for all Ashwood children.

What do we raise money for?

Our current project is to raise money to install a playhouse and seating in the Foundation stage play area. We recently installed a £15,000 play area in the KS1 playground and also jointly with the school re-furbished the Yr 5/6 Art and Craft area also at a cost of £15,000. We also buy Easter eggs for the children and provide a leaving gift for Yr 6 children.

 How often do we meet?

Normally once every Half Term, but this can vary depending on how much organising needs to be done for a particular event.  The meetings are held on a Wednesday or Thursday evening at 7.30 p.m. in the KS2 staffroom. We also meet occasionally at 9.00 a.m. in the KS1 community room to undertake practical tasks like sorting donations etc.

 How can I get involved?

Feel free to pop along to our next meeting, bring a friend with you.  We are a friendly bunch and a cup of coffee and a warm welcome are guaranteed. Phone the school office to find out when the next meeting is, or contact a Committee member.
