In addition, a 30 place part-time nursery offers pre-school education to children from the age of 3 years. Full time ‘wraparound’ care is also available.
Birches Kidz Club operates before and after school if parents require extra childcare facilities.
The majority of our children transfer to Codsall Middle or Bilbrook Middle school at the end of Year 4 to continue their education.
Admissions
In order for your child to be admitted to school, parents should complete an application form and provide proof of their child's date of birth.
All children for Nursery and Reception are admitted in September:
Nursery Admission - September before a child’s fourth birthday
School admission - September before a child’s fifth birthday
Admissions are at the discretion of the Headteacher, as long as the standard number of 30 is not exceeded in any one year. If the number of pupils seeking admission exceeds the number of places available, places will be allocated by the Pupil Support Unit at Stafford in accordance with the following priorities:-
a. Pupils who have an elder brother or sister in attendance at the school on the proposed admission date.
b. Other pupils arranged in order or priority, according to the distance from the home address to the requested school as compared to the distance from the home address to the nearest alternative school.
Parents who are considering sending their child to Birches should contact the Headteacher who will be pleased to explain admission arrangements. Parents are very welcome to talk to the Headteacher and look around the school before coming to a decision and this can be arranged by telephoning the school office for an appointment.
