Thank you for requesting information about Castlefort JMI school.  I hope the information in this prospectus will be helpful to you, your family and your child.

Our main aim is to provide a happy, friendly, supportive, exciting yet disciplined environment where every child is known and valued as an individual, and always encouraged to do their very best.

Both academic achievement and personal development are valued here at Castlefort, we regularly monitor our teaching and learning to ensure that it remains of a very high standard and also provide children with many additional opportunities in terms of clubs, open after school four days a week, and out of school activities including various trips offered on a regular basis. Through our PSHE and citizenship curriculum we aim to ensure that our children develop into confident, independent and caring young people who have pride in themselves and in their school.

We aim to work in partnership with our parents/carers and hold a Parents Forum each half term where we listen to the views and suggestions from parents and carers as to how our school can be improved further.  A newsletter is sent out every Friday to keep parents/carers up to date as to school events, often run by our active ‘Friends of Castlefort’ association, and parent/carer consultation evenings are held each term.  In addition parents/carers are always welcome to telephone, or pop in and see staff if they have any concerns.  Please feel free to contact school if you feel it is necessary to support your child’s learning, I shall not hesitate to contact you if I feel it necessary.

We are proud of our school, our staff, children and Governors, I look forward to welcoming you and your child and wish you a long and happy time at Castlefort, if you have any questions following your reading of this prospectus please contact me.
