Welcome to Fairhaven Primary School in Wordsley, near Stourbridge. Please take time to explore our award-winning web site which contains lots of information about the school.
Fairhaven Primary School was opened in September 1969 as a 5-11 Primary School. It was later extended and its facilities improved to accommodate the needs of 5-12 year olds. From September 1991 the age of secondary transfer reverted to 11. We were therefore re-designated as a 5-11 school with some 220 to 255 children on roll. Children are admitted in September at the age of 4.
Situated in a pleasant, residential area on the Kingswinford side of Wordsley village, the school shares an attractive open campus with Wordsley Youth Centre and the Phoenix Centre for Disabled Children. The school has nine classrooms and a demountable unit that houses the Fairhaven Under 5's Centre. It has specialist areas for ICT, food technology, a purpose-built library and a multipurpose hall equipped for P.E., dining and for assemblies. There are separate playgrounds for younger and older children. Healthy school meals are cooked on the premises in kitchens adjacent to the hall. |
