A School For Every Child

With 15 newly designed classrooms and a range of other accommodation,  Gosford Park is totally committed to every child achieving his or her full academic potential, from our Nursery right through to Year 6.  We have an excellent team who are dedicated to providing the very best education for our children.

Gosford Park is equally proud of its extra curricular activities which cater for as wide a set of interests as is possible.  We have opportunities for children to learn musical instruments and also offer a wide range of sporting activities.

Ours is a happy school with a relaxed but firm approach to discipline.  We believe in the positive, in children and teachers who CAN do it.  We also believe that every child has a talent.  It may or may not be in reading or in maths, it may be in art or P.E.  Our task is to find and nurture that talent so that all children feel valued and positive about themselves and their school.

School Sports

Physical Education, dance and sport are considered to be important by the school both for personal development and health needs. Our facilities are of a high standard, with a school hall and extensive school grounds. Both the school field and hall have been hired for use by outside sports teams.

Teams have represented the school in football, netball and cross country. Other sports available to the children at various ages include swimming and basketball. These sports were on offer at the time of writing, but we hope to increase the number of opportunities available to our children and we would welcome interested parents contacting us to find out the exact provision.

We have formed very exciting new links with Bluecoat School and the New Opportunities Fund.

All classes have physical education every week in line with the suggested National Curriculum requirements and, in addition, the school has established strong links with local sports clubs and The Alan Higgs Centre.

EXTRA – CURRICULA ACTIVITIES

As part of our commitment to “finding” that special talent which every child possesses we have an expanding range of extra curricula activities. These change from year to year dependent upon the special skills of our staff and it is best to ask about the current provision when you are in school. Currently, as well as sporting activities, we have steel band, sewing club, French club, choir and recorders. The list is about to further expand as we extend our relationship with Bluecoat school and the New Opportunities Fund.

We also offer our older children the opportunity to take part in residential visits. Later this year a large number of our Year 6 children will be visiting Dol-y-Moch (Coventry’s outward bound centre in Wales) and a group of year 5 children will be spending a weekend at a Youth Hostel with exciting outdoor activities planned.
