Hearsall Community Primary School
Kingston Road, CV5 6LR Coventry
02476 674625

Hearsall is a community primary school housed in a fine Edwardian building a mile from the city centre. The school is a Grade 2 listed building and its original attractive features remain.

Through fundraising efforts, we have provided our children with an adventure playground, an Early Years soft play area, two small grassed areas, a miniature woodland and a willow arch, all which supplement our two playgrounds. By the beginning of the next academic year (2005 – 6) we will also have a second adventure playground / “trim trail” which has been funded by the efforts of our hardworking governors and parents’ group.

Being a community school means we are able to offer a richer provision for our children, using expertise and resources from more people than just our school staff, through after school clubs and holiday clubs for example.

Extra Curricular Activities at Hearsall

Children at Hearsall have lots of opportunities to learn and play outside our everyday curriculum.

Music and sport play a very important role in school life. We offer lessons in violin, viola, cello, guitar, trumpet, trombone, flute, clarinet and saxophone. We have a school orchestra comprising of children, staff and parents which practices each week before school.

A variety of sporting clubs run at lunchtime and after school and children can choose from football, basketball, athletics, Topsport and dance.

Our ICT club runs at lunchtime and children can take lessons in French and Urdu.

The Friends of Hearsall

This group meets every few weeks to plan social and fundraising activities for our children and families. We have bought our own disco equipment and have regular afterschool discos for the children. Events such as fashion shows, bingo and quiz evenings, summer, autumn and Christmas Fayres not only raise money for the school but bring a great deal of enjoyment to our school community.
