The school was opened in 1959 and at the time of writing has 314 children on roll including 38 part-time Nursery children. The school also houses an 11 place Individual Needs Centre, which caters for children from across the Dudley Borough. School meals are cooked on the premises. There are extensive playing fields adjoining the building. The school has community links providing local organisations and residents with a range of evening and weekend activities, as well as a range of courses and workshops.

Purpose and Aims
The purpose of Hob Green Primary School is to develop each child as a life long learner in a safe and caring environment.

Our Aims are:

  • To focus attention on pupil attainment
  • To stimulate intellectual development
  • To set high but realistic expectations and standards of performance
  • To develop acceptable personal and social skills and encourage citizenship
  • To encourage tolerance, teamwork and co-operation
  • To promote an environment in which all people think well of themselves by development a sense of personal development and confidence
  • To encourage the children to always do their best, set high standards for themselves to try and improve on their past performances


Hob Green Primary School is a school educating children from 3 -11 years of age and is maintained by Dudley Metropolitan Borough. It is situated on the outskirts of Stourbridge serving an area with a mix of council and private housing.

Hob Green is proud of its improving academic and pastoral achievements and firmly believes in the development of the child as an individual and in its provision of a broad and balanced curriculum.

As part of the Excellence in Clusters Initiative we have a commitment to working in partnership with parents. By working together, children, parents and staff, develop an agreed, positive and purposeful attitude towards education that will provide a firm base from which to take up the challenge of learning through life.
