A welcome from our Headteacher
"Hello, my name is Joy. Welcome to our web site.
I hope you enjoy learning about us through exploring the pages of our site. If you would like to know any more, or come and visit us, please contact the school office.
We are a Community Special School meeting the needs of up to 70 pupils with Moderate, Severe, Complex, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, ASD and Sensory Impairments.
All our pupils receive an appropriate, relevant, challenging, developing, exciting, broad, balanced curriculum, delivered in a relevant and differentiated manner, enabling progression and continuity to be experienced.
We promote and ensure the recognition of the importance of communication for everyone and use a range of strategies to support this, including sign language, PECS, AA and objects of reference.
Pupils may enter the school from the age of 11 and may continue until the age of 19, if the placement is appropriate.
The school strives to foster the development of our pupils, who have a wide range of special educational needs, by meeting their needs and giving them the confidence and competence to lead as independent, purposeful and enjoyable lives as possible.
Oscott Manor provides a caring environment based on courtesy, good manners and respect for others, regardless of race, gender, religion or ability."
