As a general approach to the development of our school the following considerations and aims are taken into account.
A. Our principal aim is to recognise the developing talents, aptitudes and interests of individual pupils and to provide a learning environment which promotes opportunities for all pupils to develop their full potential intellectually, socially, physically and morally.
B. To help the pupil to acquire appropriate knowledge and understanding which will be of use in adult life.
C. To provide an effective working knowledge of mathematical concepts and an ability to use that knowledge in the solving of practical tasks.
D. To help the pupils to acquire the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with confidence through reading, speech and writing.
E. To help the pupils acquire empathy with understanding of religious and moral values and an appreciation of other races and religions.
F. To provide the pupils with an understanding and knowledge of both his/her immediate environment along with a national and international perspective.
G. To help pupils develop an appreciation of others and their achievements and aspirations.
Children need to be themselves, to learn from their environment, to enjoy their development and prepare for the future. The need to feel cared for and to be valued and as a result develop the emotional ability to be able to care for and value others.
To this end the school works extensively with many groups and organisations within the local and wider community. Regular links with the Church, Post Office, Police and other services, support strongly our work. In addition we have thriving European Links with schools in Majorca and Italy. These links have involved Children, Staff and Governors working together within each others communities. Fairness and a sense of justice are primary elements of our school life. We have developed an effective behaviour policy, which embraces a positive reward system. Parents are fully aware and are involved in our School Behaviour Policy, which encourages children to feel positive about good behaviour.
