From the Chair of Governors, Mr. Malcolm Overend
It is a great pleasure to welcome you, on behalf of all staff, governors, parents and children to Peterbrook Primary School’s website. The website is a place where you will find information about the school, its location, events, term dates and current activities, including those of the PTFA.
It provides us with an opportunity to celebrate the success of the school and it is not just for parents. Children visiting the site will find much to interest them on the numerous ‘Kids’ Pages’.
Overall the website is the result of a concerted effort by all at the school to provide as much information as possible to those who visit the site for whatever reason. Regular updates and maintenance keep it topical and our thanks are due to all those who created and continue to maintain the site.
From the Headteacher, Mr. E. Carter
On behalf of the pupils, parents, staff and governors welcome to Peterbrook Primary School’s website. I hope that you will find it enjoyable, interesting and informative.
Our principal aim is … ‘to provide an environment where individuals – both children and staff – feel valued through an ethos of caring and encouragement, understanding and appreciation’ …
We endeavour to create and celebrate opportunities for all. Our motto is “If you believe it, you can achieve it”. By valuing the contribution of all members of our school community we have created a vibrant and dynamic learning environment for all.
As an Investor in People organisation we give the professional development of all staff a high priority, which has a direct and positive impact on our children’s learning. Visit our Training Section for further details.
Peterbrook parents are generous with the support they give to their children, as well as the wider school community through the activities of our thriving PTFA. As partners in their children’s learning they are fully involved in shaping our school’s direction in terms of provision and resources.
Our Governors play a leading role in shaping and guiding our vision, and are committed to ensuring the very best opportunities through their ‘hands on’ involvement.
But most of all it is our children who make Peterbrook a special place. We are proud of our children’s academic performance, their success through the provision Artsmark status offers, and their achievements gained through the extensive range of musical, sporting and extra-curricular activities. Uniquely, links with our International partners around the world help our children to nurture friendships in the global community.
From the school's Lead Adviser, Mrs. K. Slinn
In my role as Solihull MBC’s School Improvement Lead Adviser for Peterbrook Primary School, I would like to say how pleased I am to see that the school’s web-site has come to fruition after all the hard work put into making it possible by so many of the Peterbrook team. It looks fantastic and it offers new curriculum development opportunities for the staff and children in the future.
The website has created a great new link between our school and our parents. We now have ideal opportunities for parents and children to keep apace with current school events and to have useful day-to-day information available to them at the click of a button. The website is packed with useful things to read and to do. Whether you need to check the date of a forthcoming school event or would like support with your child’s homework; this website is the place for you.
As parents, you may be especially interested in visiting the ‘curriculum pages’ which give a particular insight into each of the subjects taught within school. You will find plenty of interesting information available to you from each subject leader.
So onto the future and new opportunities ~ congratulations to all concerned and ‘happy browsing’!
From the Deputy Headteacher, Mr. S. McGaw
Hello everyone – whether you are a member of the Peterbrook School family or indeed are browsing our website from the other side of the world!
Peterbrook is a very busy school where we all participate in the daily challenges and opportunities to provide our children with an education which is varied and stimulating. I enjoy my role both as a deputy and as a member of a committed team of adults who strive to give of their best everyday.
This website is another piece in our developing jigsaw. Please take the time to have a good browse around it. I’m sure you will find it informative and interesting – as for our children – they’ll probably head straight for the ‘kids pages’, which incidentally are fantastic!! Two interesting dimensions are Peterbrook International, where we share our developments with our ‘twinned’ schools overseas, and Peterbrook Training, an exciting development into the world of professional development and training in all its forms.
If you would like to discuss with me any aspect of our website and its future roles, then please feel free to make an appointment at our school office or send me an e-mail.
