Woodlands school aims to provide a caring learning environment in which all the children achieve their full potential - academically, physically, socially and emotionally. To this end we would aim to develop a true partnership with parents in the education of our children.
The school was built in the 1930's and is situated in a predominantly residential area some 3 or 4 miles from the centre of Willenhall.
The school has its own 52 place Nursery which takes children, on a part-time basis, from the age of three. Children transfer to the Reception classes in the September following their fourth birthday. They remain in the Infant department (Key Stage 1), until the September following their seventh birthday.
Children spend four years in the Junior department (Key Stage 2) before transferring to one of a number of local secondary schools in the September following their eleventh birthday.
As a Primary School we are pleased to be able to guarantee a smooth transition between the first three stages of schooling, with staff and an environment which are familiar to the children from their first day in Nursery through to Year 6.We also liaise closely with our partner secondary schools to ensure that transfer to the next stage of schooling is also as smooth as possible. |
