Kirkland High School's origins lie in three secondary schools which served local communities for several generations. When a secondary school was built in Methil in 1963/64 staff and pupils from Aberhill, Leven and Kennoway moved into the newly named Kirkland Junior High School which, in due course, became Kirkland High School, a full six-year comprehensive. In 1990, in a unique initiative in Fife, a Community College was also established leading to the creation of our present Kirkland High School and Community College.
