THE SCHOOL
Jordanhill School is situated in the West End of Glasgow. It is a combined Primary and Secondary School with a total school roll of approximately 1050, aged from 5 to 18.
Teaching facilities and resources are excellent. The main ‘B' listed building opened in 1920, while the buildings housing the practical subjects were built in the 1960s. All have been modernised and upgraded internally.
A new teaching block will be constructed during 2007-08 on the site adjacent to the practical buildings. Planning consent has also been received to extend and upgrade the Refectory.
Very high levels of information and communication technology are in use throughout the School. There are four dedicated computing suites, a graphics suite and further clusters in music, art, the library and PSE. In addition, some 70 radio laptops are deployed flexibly across Primary and secondary.
Almost all teaching areas have interactive whiteboards and data projectors; all have a PC for administrative and curricular use. The school has a dedicated IT support team.
