WELCOME!!!

St Aloysius’ College is a Catholic School for boys and girls, aged 3 – 18.  As a Jesuit school, it shares in a tradition of educational excellence which is almost 500 years old and it is part of a world-wide network of schools and universities whose mission is the ‘improvement in living and learning for the greater glory of God and the common good.’  (St Ignatius Loyola, 1491-1556).

Any boy or girl who would benefit from the education which the College offers is welcome to apply for a place.

Head Master`s Welcome

As the first lay Head of St Aloysius’ I am very conscious of the great tradition that the College has built up since its foundation in 1859. As a Catholic school, and in particular as a Jesuit school, it has served the community by providing a first class education for the young people in its care. The culture and ethos of the school have been formed by this wonderfully rich Jesuit tradition that has been one of the dominant forces in educational thinking for almost 500 years. At the heart of its mission is the development of excellence. The school seeks to ensure that every pupil in its care fulfils his or her potential in academic studies, religious life, sport, music, drama, the arts and above all in the service of others. The school seeks human excellence and the development of young men and women who will put their ideals into practice in their personal lives and whatever profession they choose.

JUNIOR SCHOOL

The Junior School is for boys and girls from age 3 (Kindergarten) to age 12 (P7). In our school we seek to create a happy, friendly environment in which our young people can become confident and motivated learners. Christian values inform every aspect of school life and children are prepared for and celebrate the Sacraments within the College.

The Infant (P1-P3) and Junior sections (P4-P7) are housed in an award winning modern building which creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Additional support for learning is available to help a child achieve his or her full potential.

SENIOR SCHOOL

Our pupils write AMDG – for the greater glory of God – on every piece of their school work.

In this way they are challenged to develop to the full their academic potential. This ideal applies to all aspects of school life because it is fundamental to the Jesuit vision of finding God in all things: in lessons and studies, on the stage, in the choir, on the sports field and in relations with and service of others.

ADMISSION

If you are interested in a place for your son or daughter please make contact with us. If you would like a copy of our prospectus you can request one on-line (click button below), by telephone or in writing. Every November we host Open Days when visitors are invited to meet staff and pupils and see around the College. (Please see the News section for details). If you are unable to attend an Open Day we welcome visits at other times of the year.
The general criteria that will guide admissions are as follows:
(a) The parents of the child must want their son or daughter to be educated in a Catholic school that has a clear religious, spiritual and moral foundation. On this condition applications are welcome from Roman Catholics, non-Catholic Christians and non-Christians.
(b) The child must be able to flourish within the curricular programme that the College offers.
