ABOUT US

Lowercroft Primary School is situated in a pleasant residential area on the west side of Bury, near Ainsworth.

The school opened in 1974 and is of single storey design. The school occupies an attractive site, is well maintained and has extensive grounds, including two adjacent sports fields and an environmental area with its own pond.

There are approximately 246 pupils in school, divided by age into 8 mixed ability classes.

The large school hall is used for Assemblies, PE lessons, drama activities and School Productions. There are 8 classrooms, 2 shared resource areas, 2 well stocked libraries and a quiet study room. Both Infant and Junior resource areas are used for a variety of technology, art and craft and science activities. The Infant resource area is also used for structured play and role-play.

• Lowercroft achieves outstanding academic success across both Key Stages (Infants and Juniors.)
• However, we believe that the school curriculum should be broad and balanced with a wide focus.
• Therefore children at Lowercroft are offered a wide range of activities and encouraged to excel in all areas.
